To tackle this challenge Koa has set itself the mission to ensure above-average and fair payments to smallholder farmers in Ghana. However, achieving this goal is fraught with complexities, including the absence of vital infrastructure like electricity and internet access in rural areas. Our collaboration aims to validate each payment made to cocoa farmers in Ghana while tracing cocoa batches back to their origins, thereby transforming credible data into actionable insights for B2B partners and major chocolate producers.

Together with Seedtrace, Koa can now transparently showcase its payments made to smallholder farmers for both business customers and consumers. Our tracing solution seamlessly integrates into Koa’s and the mobile payment provider's systems, enabling the tracking and reconciliation of payments, quantities, and reductions in food waste. By turning product transparency into a USP, we make it economically viable for other actors along the supply chain. Just like VomFass or Sprüngli, Koa’s B2B customers can utilize the provided impact data for their own CSR insights, reporting, Marketing, and communication efforts.
