Berlin, 30 October 2024 – Seedtrace, a leading technology company for transparent and sustainable supply chains, has secured two spots among the finalists for the 2025 German Sustainability Award (DNP). In the newly created "Products" competition, Seedtrace advanced to the next round in the "Value Chains" transformation field with two innovative traceability solutions. These nominations underscore Seedtrace's forward-looking approach to supporting companies in upholding social and environmental standards throughout their supply chains.

The award recognises outstanding sustainability achievements and honours companies and solutions that set transformative standards. On 29 November, ten winners from each of the 30 finalists across five transformation fields – Climate, Nature, Resources, Society, and Value Chains – will be announced. The awards ceremony will take place as part of the 17th German Sustainability Day in Düsseldorf.

Seedtrace Finalist Solutions in the "Value Chains" Transformation Field:

Deforestation Check – Seedtrace supports companies in establishing and maintaining deforestation-free supply chains by enabling traceability of critical raw materials back to their origin. With its data collection, risk analysis, and reporting tool, the technology provider contributes to combating global deforestation, which threatens biodiversity, accelerates climate crises, and impacts water resources. This tool also helps companies meet EU-mandated due diligence requirements under the EUDR.

Payment Traceability Tool – Through its end-to-end traceability platform, Seedtrace enables companies to implement traceability with a special focus on access to critical supply chain and sustainability data, particularly at the initial stages. The platform helps companies make their payment flows traceable and transparent throughout the supply chain which is an essential measure to combat unfair labour practices and exploitation in the production of raw materials from the Global South, such as cocoa.

In addition, Seedtrace received a nomination in the main competition “DNP Companies 2025”. Here, the focus was on its partnership with cocoa fruit juice producer Koa, aimed at verifying fair payments for cocoa farmers in Ghana. Seedtrace employs a primary-data-driven approach to sustainability management across the entire supply chain, allowing companies to precisely assign responsibilities and conduct data-based evaluations of social and environmental standards.

Seedtrace will also participate in the accompanying congress in Düsseldorf. On 29 November, Ana Selina Haberbosch (CEO and Co-Founder) will join the "Supply Chains" panel discussion at the German Sustainability Day alongside other experts, moderated by Caspar Dohmen (Editor-in-Chief, ESG.Table), to discuss supply chain legislation and reporting obligations.
